Daulatabad Fort - Deogiri/Devagiri
The historic fort located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. was capital of Ahmednagar Sultanate. The fort was ruled by many kings and its feature is that no one has ever been able to conquer this fort on the strength of soldiers or war materials.
History tells that the fort was build by king Bhillamraja of Daulatabad. In 1187, it was renamed as Devagiri.
The history of defeating fifty thousand troops by only two thousand soldiers has been written many times here. The structure of the fort is very special. Even today, when you see this fort, you can see that it has never been possible to conquer the enemy with its mighty and huge walls. Suppose the enemy breaks through the first walls and doors and enters, then a forty-foot ditch, filled with water and has crocodile in it.
On the way to fort there is 30 meter high moon tower in the middle of hill.Inside the fort there is a huge tank.
There are many cannons on the fort also must watch the cannon made of five metals named 'Medha' can hits up to 12km.
